Kept Smooth IPL

A shave keeps you smooth for a day. Light keeps you smooth for longer. The Kept Smooth IPL is an at-home intense pulsed light device, the at-home alternative to salon laser hair removal, so the standard your keyholder set holds between shaves.

How it works

Each flash of broad-spectrum light (600 to 1200 nm) is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and heats the follicle. Over repeated sessions, regrowth slows and comes back finer. It takes regular sessions over several weeks, and results vary from person to person.

• Nine energy levels. Start low on sensitive areas and work up on legs, chest and back.
• Built-in cooling. A cooling contact window chills the skin as you go.
• Fast. A flash every 0.8 seconds, so large areas take minutes, not an afternoon.
• 999,999 flashes. The lamp is built for years of sessions.
• Corded. Steady power on every flash, at 8.8 oz in the hand.

Where it goes, and where it doesn't

Use it on the legs, arms, chest, stomach, back, underarms and bikini line. Never on the genitals, around the anus, on the nipples, near the eyes or over tattoos. That is the Kept Smooth Shaver's job, and together they are the Kept Smooth System.

Who it's for

IPL works best on light to medium skin with darker hair. It won't work on blonde, red, grey or white hair, and it isn't for very dark skin. Shave first, keep the area out of the sun for 48 hours before and after, and patch-test every new area. Read the safety notes below before you start.

Don't use the Kept Smooth IPL if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of skin cancer, epilepsy or light sensitivity, have a skin condition or broken, sunburnt or tanned skin in the area, or take medication that makes your skin sensitive to light. If you are unsure, ask your doctor first.

Never use it on the genitals, around the anus, on the nipples, near the eyes, or over tattoos, permanent makeup, dark moles or birthmarks. It is not for very dark skin.

Stop using it and speak to a health-care professional if your skin blisters, burns or changes colour, or if anything feels wrong.
