Review Guidelines

Reviews on lockedfans.com come only from people who bought the product from us, and the same guidelines apply whatever the rating. Good, bad or in between, we want the honest version.

Who can write a review

  • Buyers only. Every review comes from a real order of that product on lockedfans.com, and is marked “Verified purchase”. There is no open form that anyone can fill in.
  • We ask by email, once. About two weeks after your order ships, we email you a private link to review it. We ask once per order and never send reminders. You can stop review emails at any time from the link at the bottom of that email.
  • Who we ask. We email buyers in the United States, and buyers elsewhere who agreed to receive emails from us at checkout. We don’t ask about gift orders, because the person who paid didn’t use the product. We never decide whom to ask based on what we expect them to say, and buyers who returned their order or had a refund are asked like everyone else.
  • People connected to us. We don’t send review requests to our staff. Anyone who works for us, is one of our affiliates or is related to us is asked to say so on the review form, and their review is labelled “Affiliated reviewer”. A product you received free is labelled “Received product free”.

What we publish

Every rating, from one star to five. Criticism is welcome, and the following are always published if they meet the guidelines below:

  • low ratings and negative reviews;
  • complaints about fit, comfort, sizing, materials, durability, shipping, price, returns, refunds or customer service;
  • comparisons with other brands or products.

You’re welcome to talk about fit, comfort, materials, wear time, hygiene, sizing and security, using anatomical terms where you need them. Please leave out sexual acts, arousal and partners’ sexual details. That line is the same for every rating.

What we don’t publish

We only turn a review away, or take one down, for one of these reasons:

  • sexually explicit, obscene or vulgar content;
  • harassing or abusive content;
  • discriminatory content;
  • someone’s personal information or likeness, contact details or links;
  • confidential information;
  • a verifiably false statement of fact (opinions are not statements of fact);
  • content wholly unrelated to our products or service;
  • a suspected fake review, including one from an undisclosed insider;
  • a duplicate of a review already submitted.

Please leave links, @handles, email addresses and phone numbers out of your review and your name; the form won’t accept them. Anything that sexualises a minor is never published, is kept as a record, and may be reported to the authorities.

We never edit reviews

We don’t change, shorten or correct what you write. If part of a review breaks these guidelines, we don’t publish it, rather than edit it.

How reviews are shown

  • The star rating is the average of every published review for that product, not a selection.
  • Reviews are listed newest first. We don’t pick favourites or move the positive ones to the top.
  • We don’t pay for reviews or offer anything in return for writing one.
  • Each review shows the name you choose, your rating, your words, the date and, where it applies, the size you bought. Your email address and order details are never shown.

Your review stays yours

You keep ownership of your review. By submitting it, you give us permission to show it on lockedfans.com until you withdraw it. The permission is non-exclusive and royalty-free, and you can withdraw your review at any time, even after it is published, using the link in your review email. We will never take action against anyone for an honest review.
